Announcing the Upcoming A.T. Trip...

Well I guess it's time for those who care to let you know that I'll be leaving on a trip in April that I've been wanting to do for awhile. My buddy Justin Leger and I will be doing a section hike on the Appalachian Trail from mid april until june. With plans not made yet to go through the Virginia section of the trail if work allows me to. All be told we're planning on spending 6 weeks in the woods and going to try and make it through Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee! 456ish miles to the VA border! I am incredibly excited and would like nothing more than to make it as far as Harpers Ferry, West Virginia this season but I can only take what I am given. This is a pretty awesome oppurtunity in my life to do something as dumb as living in the woods and eating beef jerky and peanuts for 6 weeks.

I have about another month at home until we hop the train to Springer Mountain, Georgia. Time will be spent smoking ribs and pork butts, kayaking and fishing and hanging out with Ruthie and my friends. If anyone close to the trail would like to provide some trail magic or a hamburger along the way, feel free. If you'd like the experience (minus the bugs, bad weather, hunger pains, exaustion, etc.) of getting outside from your comfy desk chair check this out. Pretty cool.

I'll leave you with a picture of Ruthie and I's paddle today on the Basin. 'Til next time friends...

And holy crap who ever would have thought i'd want to make a road trip to Syracuse, NY??
