AT Journeys...

Almost a year ago I finished my impromptu thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. There are days when i'd like nothing more than to be out in the woods of Maine again. I've talked to other thru hikers and they all say the same thing. Not a day goes by that they don't think about the trail. To me it's a little different because honestly it still feels like a dream.
My mission for this year was to commit to work and get back to "the matrix". Not long after sending out my 2000 miler application the ATC emailed me and asked for some pictures or stories from the trail to use in a future issue of AT Journeys. I sent a few in but never thought much of it.

Well one of the photos I submitted ended up on the back cover of the July/August issue. I was lazily flipping through the magazine and threw it down onto my stack of reading material. The back picture caught my eye and I thought, hmm that looks familar. Pretty neat. Ruthie and I were just talking about making it back there next year and this exact spot was in my mind. Guess that means I have to make it back to the Mountain Harbour Hostel for some of Mrs. Mary's trail famous breakfast!
So I reckon I lied when I said I don't think much about the trail. Because now all I can think of is getting back there. No doubt I will see some white blazes next year. And maybe a little bit of the JMT!
