Ducks on ice...

It's the last hurrah for duck season. Coastal zone is over for me and only one or two hunts left in the Atchafalaya Basin. Time for me to stop missing those woodies that are dropping in for a look at first light and try to retrieve that teal decoy still sitting in the swamp in water a little bit too deep for me and the chest waders to get through. This is no doubt the toughest time to kill some ducks. They've been tricked and shot up most every day for the past 2 months. The birds that are still flying today are smart and cautious. I'm going a few more times if only to be there to see them fly and see what happens.
